gdea Archive Policy

1) Objectives and Criteria for Content of the Graph Drawing E-print Archive (GDEA)

GDEA is offered as a free service to academics, researchers, and students working in the field of Graph Drawing. In general, for material to be accepted in the archive, the item must be of potential use to researchers and scholars, whether they be academics or students. The GDEA reserves the right to refuse to post papers it deems to lie outside these boundaries.

The GDEA accepts papers in any language. However, abstract must be in English.

Operation and development of the document and publication server are integrated into national and international initiatives and projects like the Open Archives Initiative (OAI).

2) Technical Characteristics of the GDEA

The digital documents are provided with individual and persistent addresses. This enables direct access to the document. For indexing, storage and archiving of the digital documents international standards like the guidelines of the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) are employed.

Preserving the different formats depends on the availability of these formats, their viewer software, and their conversion tools.

3) Organisational Regulations

The GDEA-Server is a joint operation of the Library for Computer Science and Business Computing and the Department of Computer Science. Both are parts of the University of Cologne.
